Ghani Orders to Release 32 Taliban Prisoners

JALALABAD – President Ashraf Ghani has ordered to release 32 Taliban prisoners from the central prison of Nangarhar province, Governor office said in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement added that Taliban prisoners in accordance with a presidential decree.
32 Taliban prisoners were set free from the central prison of Nangarhar, the statement added.
It further added that 2,300 people including women are currently imprisoned in Nangarhar central prison.
Previously, President Ghani had ordered the release of 887 Taliban prisoners on the eve of Eid Al-Fitr.
Afghan people and politicians many times criticized Afghan government for releasing Taliban militants.
