Minister Zarif Asks Europe to Read the Context of JCPOA

TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday urged European states to read the context of their joint global action plan with Iran, IRNA reported Monday.
Reminder to our E3 partners in #JCPOA: There is NO ban on uranium enrichment by Iran under #NPT, #JCPOA or UNSCR 2239. Neither today, nor in 2025 nor beyond, Iranian FM writes Monday on his Twitter account.
“It could be useful for the European partners to read the document to which they have committed themselves and which they have pledged to defend.”
The French envoy to the United States, Gerard Araud, in a tweet deleted afterwards, said: “It is wrong to say that upon the expiry of the JCPOA, Iran will be allowed to enrich uranium Under the NPT and its additional protocol, he will have to prove, under strict control, that his nuclear activities are civil.”
Iran’s deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, said in response to a French diplomat: “If @GerardAraud’s tweets represent the French position, we are facing a major violation of the purpose and purpose of the JCPOA and of Security Council Resolution 2231, or we act accordingly.”
