Shadow District Chief of Taliban Killed in Sar-e-Pul, 3 Civilian Killed in Herat

KABUL – Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) have killed, Sher Mohammad alias Ghazanfar, the shadow district chief of Taliban for Sayad district in Sar-e-Pul province, Ministry of Interior said Wednesday.
According to statement Afghan Police conducted a successful operation in Sayad district late Tuesday night.
Special Forces also arrested one of the close friends of Sher Mohammad during the operation, the statement stated.
Sher Mohammad was one of the key commanders of Taliban, involved in major terrorist attacks in Sayad district.
Meanwhile, according to reports two assailants riding a motorbike killed three civilians in Ghorian district of Herat province.
According to local residents the assailants fled the area after killing civilians on Wednesday at around 12 pm.
A security source confirming the incident said that all the victims were local residents of the Ghorian district.
