Abdullah, Miller Confer on Reconciliation Process

KABUL – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and Resolute Support Mission Commander Gen. Austin Scott Miller discussed reconciliation and security in Afghanistan on Saturday.
The CEO office said Gen. Miller called on Abdullah; and the two sides discussed the developments in reconciliation process and the security situation besides exchanging views on other issues.
Abdullah promised the government would continue supporting efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace.
The government was fully behind its armed forces and was ready to defend the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, Abdullah said.
Gen. Miller reaffirmed NATO’s commitment to peace in the war-hit country. The top US military commander pledged long-term support for training and equipping the Afghan armed forces.
