Afghan Forces Killed in a Friendly Fire in Jaghori

SANG-E-MASHA – At least eight Afghan security personnel have been killed in a security forces airstrike near Jaghori district of central-eastern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.
Naseer Ahmad Faqiri, the head of provincial council, said that the casualties were personnel of Afghan intelligence agency, National Directorate of Security (NDS), who were killed in airstrike on the outskirts of Jaghori district on Monday night.
He said that four others were wounded in the strike.
Arif Noori, a spokesman for provincial governor, confirmed the raid, but said that the victims were members of public uprising forces.
He said that the strike was carried out in Hotqul area of Jaghori district. He blamed incorrect information for the strike.
Dozens of Jaghori residents launched a protest against the incident and said the perpetrators should be trialed.
Some residents claimed that the airstrike had left 12 members of the public uprising forces dead and that the airstrike targeted an outpost close to the district governor’s office.
