Amrullah Saleh Resigns as Acting Interior Minister

KABUL – Amrullah Saleh has stepped down as Afghanistan’s Acting Interior Minister, a source told Sahar News Saturday.
Najib Danish, deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed to Sahar News that Amrullah Saleh has resigned from his position.
Meanwhile, a credible source who wished to go unnamed, said that Saleh resigned because he was joining the electoral ticket of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani as his First Vice President.
Saleh was appointed as Acting Interior Minister less than a month ago.
So far, ten presidential candidates have formally nominated themselves for the upcoming election that is expected to be held on July 20, 2019.
