Azerbaijani Delegation Visits the “Dafoos” Military Academy

TEHRAN – A military delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan on Wednesday visited at the AJA Command and Staff College (Dafoos), Army Staff College of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mehr News reported Wednesday.
The Azeri military delegation also held talks with the commander of the staff corps, the second brigade, General Hasasn Valivand.
Commander Dafoos stated that the Staff College accepted students from allied and nearby countries, expressing their readiness to accept and train students from the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He stressed that relations between Iran and Azerbaijan could develop further in the fields of army and defense.
Brigadier General Rahim Jafarov, military leader of the Azerbaijani delegation, praised the good relations between the two countries and said Iran’s military and defense training was admirable.
He commended the Iranian military for providing useful training to Azerbaijan in recent years and expressing interest in acquiring more military knowledge and experience from Iran.
The academy is a subdivision of the Joint Staff of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and offers Master of Arts and Military Science courses to personnel of the four branches of the Army of highest rank and higher. The university also offers courses to foreign officers from countries with close ties to Iran.
