China Opposes Military Intervention in Venezuela: Envoy

UNITED NATIONS – A Chinese envoy said on Tuesday that China is opposed to a military intervention in Venezuela, the Xinhua news agency reported.
China maintains that all countries must respect fundamental principles of international law and international relations.
In doing that all countries should oppose foreign interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs and military intervention in Venezuela,” said Ma Zhaoxu at a meeting of the Security Council on the situation in Venezuela.
Zhaoxu is a Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations.
“China opposes the use of so-called humanitarian assistance for political purposes to create a disability or even turbulence in Venezuela and the neighboring region,” he added.
