Daesh Claims Responsibility for Nangarhar Attack

JALALABAD – The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), known as Daesh in Afghanistan, has claimed responsibility for Nangarhar attack that targeted a private construction firm in eastern Nangarhar province.
Amaq News Agency, the pro-Daesh media outlet reported that the attack was carried out by militants affiliated with Daesh.
According to reports, at least 16 people lost their lives during the attack which was carried out in the outskirts of Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar.
The media office of Nangarhar had earlier reported that 11 workers of EBE Construction Firm lost their lives in the attack and 9 others have sustained injuries.
According to a statement released by the provincial government, a soldier of the Special Forces of Afghan Intelligence also lost his life in the attack.
The statement further added that five militants involved in the attack were also killed during the clashes with the security forces.
