Daesh Member Surrenders to ANSF in Kunar

ASADABAD – A member of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria – Khurasan (ISIS-K) or Daesh has surrendered to Afghan forces in easter Kunar province, the Afghan National Army (ANA) said in a statement.
As per the statement, a member of Daesh group identified as Hezbullah has surrendered to Afghan forces in Manogi district.
The statement further added that Hezbullah was involved in anti-government armed insurgency in Manogi district of Kunar.
“Hezbullah has also handed over a weapon to armed forces after renouncing violence,” the statement added.
Daesh has not yet commented in this regard.
In the last few years, Daesh has strengthened its foothold in Afghanistan and has carried out some very lethal attacks, some even in capital Kabul.
