Faryab: 11 Taliban Militants Killed in AAF Airstrike

MAIMANA – The Afghan Air Force (AAF) bombed a gathering of Taliban militants in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, leaving at least 11 militants dead, the Afghan National Army (ANA) said in a statement.
As per the statement, the airstrike was carried out at around 4:40 pm local time in Badghesi Village of Khawajah Sabz Posh district, Faryab.
“The airstrike on Taliban gathering followed a day after a senior Taliban commander Qari Tajuddin was killed with his 20 fighters in the same district,” the 209th Shaheen Corps statement added.
According to statement by 209th Shaheen Army Corps, at least 14 militants had also sustained injuries and 12 others were arrested during the operation on Saturday.
Taliban militants have not confirmed the incident so far.
