Germany Expects Active Role in Afghan Peace Process: Potzel

KABUL – Germany’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Markus Potzel, met Wednesday with Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani at the foreign ministry, Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

During the meeting, ambassador Potzel briefed FM Rabbani on his recent trip to Doha, according to the statement.
“Germany intends to have an active role in bringing about peace in Afghanistan,” the ambassador told Rabbani, adding that “respecting the constitution was key to stability in Afghanistan”.
FM Rabbani also appreciated Germany’s continued support to Afghanistan.
