Huge Explosion Rocks Kabul

KABUL – A bomb in a vehicle exploded in Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday.
The blast happened at 10:10 am on main road near Abdulhaq square, said Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesperson for Interior Ministry.
The blast was triggered by explosive-laden Townace van, he said.
So far, the number of victims is not clear. Eye witnesses say that dozens were injured as they were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Meanwhile, Farid Ahmad Karimi, general manager at Wazir Akbar Khan hospital close to the bomb site said that at least five people lost their lives and 25 others sustained injuries in the attack.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the target was foreign forces’ convoy entering a facility of Afghan intelligence agency.
The attack comes three days after a Taliban tractor bomb near Green Village, an international compound in Kabul, killed 16 and wounded 119.
