Iran Officially Adds US Forces to Terrorist List

TEHRAN – Iran has officially added the U.S. Armed Forces in the Middle East to their terrorist list, IRNA reported Wednesday.
Iran’s Minister of Defense General Amir Hatami first introduced the bill declaring the U.S. Armed Forces in the Middle East as terrorists, shortly after Trump’s designation, but it was not approved until recently.
According to IRNA, the Iranian lawmakers unanimously supported the bill.
Minister of Parliament Ahmed Amirabadi stated that Iran’s military intelligence wing of their armed forces is required to reveal the names of the commanders from the Central Command of the United States (Centcom) that have been added to the terrorist watch list.
Amir abadi said during an open parliamentary session that the other ministers had agreed with the general points of the bill and sought to strengthen the IRGC’s position against the U.S. actions.
The general points that were discussed, had to deal with naming U.S. military personnel who were regarded as terrorists by the Iranian government.
According to IRNA, some ministers questioned why the entire U.S. military was not declared a terrorist entity, which would be a tit-for-tat move by Tehran. Amirabadi responded that as of this time, only the General Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces in the Middle East, Asia and Africa would be recognized as a terrorist entity.
Since Trump designated the IRGC as a terrorist entity, the navies of the IRGC and U.S. have stayed clear of one another in order to avoid any potential hostilities.
