Iran will in No Way Accept INSTEX Terms: MP

TEHRAN – A member of the European Parliament’s National Security Committee said on Monday that Iran would not accept the terms and conditions set by the EU (under any circumstances) for the creation of Iran’s trade mechanism, Mehr news agency reported.
Hossein Naghavi Hosseini, a member of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, told a Mehr News correspondent on Monday that conditioning the implementation of the trade mechanism on issues outside the JCPOA framework, including draft laws related to the FATF, goes against international commitments.
“Europe needs to implement the payment mechanism as a mean to implement its commitments and obligations under the JCPOA,” he added.
France, Germany and the United Kingdom on Thursday issued a joint statement on the creation of the INSTEX (Trade Support Instrument), a special purpose vehicle to facilitate legitimate trade between European economic operators and the EU. In order to circumvent American sanctions and convince Iran to stay in the nuclear deal after the unilateral withdrawal of the United States from the agreement.
Naghavi Hosseini claimed that some European officials had subordinated the establishment of the payment circuit to Iran’s approval of invoices related to the FATF or the negotiation of its missile program.
“We will not have any negotiations on our missile program,” he said.
The Iranian legislator, however, added that the creation of the EU trade mechanism for Iran was an important step. She hoped that Iran would continue to have as much transparency as the nuclear deal.
