Iranian Intelligence Service Inscribed on EU Terrorists List

TEHRAN – The European Union has added two Iranian personalities and the Internal Security Directorate of Iran’s intelligence ministry to the bloc’s terror list, the group said in a statement, Asharq Al Awsat reported Thursday.
The statement said that these lists have been adopted by the Council as part of its response to recent attacks on European soil.
EU ministers agreed Tuesday in Brussels to add names to the list and freeze their assets, starting on Wednesday, the Netherlands accusing Iran of two murders on its soil and joining France and Denmark to claim that Tehran has committed other attacks in Europe.
Reuter reported that Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi described the EU’s actions as surprising and baseless.
Qassemi said in a statement posted on the official website of the ministry that Iran will adopt the necessary measures in response to this initiative as per the context of reciprocity.
Moreover, Iran denied any involvement in the alleged conspiracies, saying the charges were intended to harm EU-Iran relations.
On the other hand, Qassemi accused the EU of supporting “terrorist groups” such as the People’s Mojahedin Organization (MKO), a group seeking to overthrow the Iranian government.
