Kabul Parliamentary Election Results Revealed

KABUL – Afghanistan’s Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Monday announced preliminary results of parliamentary election in Kabul after a long delay.
Kabul is allotted 33 seats in the Wolesi Jirga, including 24 for male and nine for females.
More than 800 people ran as candidates for the seats from capital. Preliminary winners and the number of votes they have secured are listed below:

The announcement takes place at a time when the election commission is enduring major pressure from election observers and Afghan political parties over shortcomings that marred the October 20 parliamentary elections and the lingering results afterwards.
