Karzai, Ghani and Abdullah Met Pompeo in Kabul

KABUL – The former president Hamid Karzai met with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Kabul earlier today.
The office of the former president, in a statement, said that the ex-President Hamid Karzai, President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah met with the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Dilgosha Palace of Arg Presidential Palace.
The statement further added that former President emphasized on the importance of peace process, calling it a vital need of the Afghan nation.
The former President also endorsed the ongoing US efforts regarding peace process in Afghanistan, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Karzai emphasized on the need to halt violence and war against the Afghans and insisted that efforts for peace process must be expedited.
He also emphasized on the vital role of the neighboring and regional countries in Afghan peace process, particularly, the role of Russia and China.
