KHOST – At least two civilians were killed and 23 others wounded in a motorcycle bomb blast in Afghanistan on Tuesday, local officials said.
According to eyewitnesses, an improvised explosive device (IED) was placed on a motorcycle in Khost city.
Photographs from the scene show police searching through debris and charred wares from shops littering the floor.
Earlier media reported that a total of six people, including two children, had died, and another six people had been injured during an attempt to defuse an unexploded ordnance in the southeastern Afghan province of Paktika.
No one has yet taken responsibility for the explosion.
