Pakistan Calls for End to Conflict in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan insists it is making all-out efforts to facilitate the Afghan peace process, stressing the need for taking all Afghans on board in order to end conflict in Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Asad Majeed Khan, speaking at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), underlined Washington-Islamabad cooperation in Afghanistan.
Both countries had pursued common goals inspired by shared ideals and common objectives, he said. “We have achieved remarkable successes whenever we worked together.”
President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Imran Khan were on the same page on the issue of bringing peace to Afghanistan, the diplomat claimed, calling for an early end to the conflict.
