Pakistan Thanks Turkey for Its Unwavering Support

ISLAMABAD – Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi thanked his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on Friday for Ankara’s unwavering support to Islamabad in various fields, Andolu news Agency reported.
In a phone call to inform Turkey about a car bomb attack in Jammu and Kashmir this month, Qureshi said Pakistan had asked India to share any information that might help in his investigation.
On February 14, a vehicle laden with explosives crashed into a paramilitary bus along the Jammu-Kashmir highway, killing 40 Indian soldiers.
Jaish-e-Mohammad, a militant group, has claimed responsibility for the worst attack in decades in the region hit by the insurgency.
India has accused Pakistan of this attack, a claim denied by Islamabad.
“Qureshi appreciated Turkey’s understanding of Pakistan’s stance on various issues and its continued support. He said that the excellent relations between the two brother countries had been further strengthened after the visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Turkey in January,” said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
The top Turkish diplomat expressed his understanding of Pakistan’s position and rejected the accusations, the statement said.
Çavuşoğlu urged both sides to resolve the conflict in Jammu and Kashmir through dialogue.
He added that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would visit Pakistan after the local elections on March 31st in Turkey.
