DOHA – Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday arrived in Qatar following his 4-nation visits, where he would discuss Afghan reconciliation process and other regional issues.
He was received by high officials of the Qatri Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Pakistan Embassy in Doha.
According to Pakistani media reports, during his one-day official visit, he will hold meeting with Qatari officials.
According to the statement, the Pakistani foreign minister is expected to discuss the Afghan peace process, bilateral relations and other important regional and global issues.
Speaking about the Afghan peace process, Pakistani FM said that Pakistan had decided on regional outreach and on taking important allies into confidence, as well as exchanging views with them about the regional situation and the Afghan peace talks.
Qureshi said that Doha had played a role in the peace and reconciliation process in the past and it was therefore important to get their opinion on the matter.
Recently, Qureshi visited Kabul and met the leaders in Kabul over the peace process and announced his country’s support.
