Turkish Aid Agency Helps IDPs in Afghanistan

KABUL – Turkey’s state-run aid agency on Monday provided food aid to 1,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) in northern Afghanistan who were forced to leave their houses due to conflict, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) said in a statement.
As per the statement, the food packages contained flour, rice, oil, tea, granulated sugar, tomato paste, kidney beans and salt for the IDPs who are now living in tents and schools.
It should not go unmentioned that the families took refuge in the northern Cuzcan province after fleeing their homes in Faryab and Sar-e Pol provinces due to conflicts and adverse seasonal conditions.
Thousands of people are displaced every year in Afghanistan because of conflict and seasonal conditions; many of them include women and children.
