US Says DPRK’s Tested Weapon Not a Ballistic Missile

WASHINGTON – The US Department of Defence said Thursday that the weapon system tested by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Wednesday was not a ballistic missile, “Xinhua” reported Friday.
“The test or launch, according to your definition, was not a ballistic missile,” US Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan told reporters on Thursday.
Asked Thursday also on the tested weapon of the DPRK, the Pentagon spokesman, Charles Summers Jr., refused to reveal the details of the test for intelligence reasons.
The spokesman also pointed out that US Northern Command and US Strategic Command had been in normal operation for 24 hours.
